2 Hospitalized After 2 Separate Stabbings In Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia police are investigating two separate stabbings that occurred early Saturday morning.

The first incident occurred around 1:15 a.m. on the 1700 block of South 17th Street in South Philadelphia.

According to police, a 21-year-old male suffered a superficial stab wound to his chest. The victim was taken to Jefferson Hospital here he was treated and released. Police say he was uncooperative and said he did not know who stabbed him or anyone else involved in the incident.

The second incident occurred on the 1600 block of Widener Place just before 2 a.m.

Police say an 18-year-old female was stabbed multiple times on the street. She was taken to Einstein Hospital where she is listed in critical condition.

Names of victims have not been released.

Police are investigating.
