Credit Card Skimming Device Found At Wawa In Burlington, Twp. N.J.

BURLINGTON Twp., (CBS) - Police say a Wawa gas attendant was arrested and found to be in possession of credit card "skimming" device on Thursday.

Since March, Burlington Township Police have received numerous complaints from residents that their credit cards had been compromised though they never lost their credit card.

With the help of Wawa Corporate Security, the Wawa located at 1814 Salem Road appeared to the common point between all the victims.

Authorities say Alfred B. Long, 28, and Robert A. Ward, 23, both of Philadelphia, Pa., were arrested in connection to the scam. They are charged with Identity Theft, Credit Card Theft, Credit Card Fraud, Conspiracy and Scanning Devices, and Reencoders for Criminal Use.

They are both being held at Burlington County Jail on $62,500 full cash bail.

Police are working with Wawa Corporate Security and financial institutions to identify additional victims. Authorities are advising residents to contact your financial institution if you feel you are a victim of credit card fraud.
