PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A Boston doctor claims people can lose two pounds after the first day with her overnight diet.

According to WBZ, Dr. Caroline Apovian wrote a new book, The Overnight Diet: The Proven Plan For Fast, Permanent Weight Loss, that spells out what to eat and drink to lose weight.

Dr. Apovian says one to two pounds can be dropped the first day while you sleep.

She says it helps motivate people to keep going.
