Two New Jersey Troopers Injured In Crash; Philadelphia Man Charged

CAMDEN, N.J. (CBS/AP) -- Authorities say two New Jersey state troopers were injured when their cruiser was struck by a Philadelphia resident who was driving drunk.

The incident happened shortly before 3:30 a.m. Saturday along Route 696 in Camden.

Police say both troopers were inside the cruiser, investigating an unrelated accident, when a vehicle driven by 38-year-old Marlowe Valentine rear-ended their car.

The troopers were taken to Cooper University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Valentine, who apparently was not injured in the accident, was charged with driving under the influence and possession of marijuana.

The names of the injured troopers were not released.
