Two Accidents, Minutes Apart, Leave Two Men Dead In West Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A pair of accidents, taking place minutes apart Thursday night, left two men dead in West Philadelphia.

The first took place at 6:50 p.m. A man was riding his dirt bike west on the 4500 block of Girard Avenue when police say he crashed into the median.

Police only identify the victim as a man between 25 and 30-years-old.

The other accident took place at around 7 p.m. at the intersection of Belmont and Parkside Avenues. There, police say a 27-year-old man on his motorcycle was traveling south on Belmont Avenue when he was hit by a red Dodge Duragno that was making a left on Parkside Avenue.

Both victims were taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where they were pronounced dead.
