Prosecutors Probe South Jersey Man's Suspicious Death

WOODBURY, N.J. (AP) — Authorities are investigating the suspicious death of a man whose body was found inside his southern New Jersey home.

Gloucester County prosecutors announced the probe on Tuesday, one day after 54-year-old John McConnell was found in his Franklin Township home by his brother.

An autopsy determined McConnell died from blunt force trauma and positional asphyxiation.

McConnell, who lived alone, was last seen alive on Saturday. Prosecutors say they believe McConnell's home was specifically targeted and that his death was not a random act.
