PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Phillies have claimed outfielder Ezequiel Carrera off waivers today, and designated Ender Inciarte for assignment to make room on the 40 man roster, the team announced Tuesday.

Carrera, 25 years old, hit .272 while scoring 20 runs in 48 games last season with the Indians after being called up by Cleveland on August 3.

Last season with triple-A Columbus, Carrera hit .294 with 65 runs, 19 doubles, 6 triples and 26 stolen bases in 97 games.
