19-Year-Old Hospitalized After Home Invasion In North Philadelphia

By Al-Qumar Atkins, Tim Jimenez

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police are investigating a home invasion and shooting that sent a 19-year-old to the hospital.

The incident occurred on the 400 block of West Raymond Street around 11:45 p.m.

According to police, one suspect entered the 19-year-old's room and hit him with a silver gun before ordering the victim downstairs by gunpoint.

Allegedly, once downstairs, the first suspect was joined by second suspect, who also had a gun, and demanded money from the victim.

Police say the suspects went through the victim's pockets and took $50 before firing two shots and fleeing the home.

The 19-year-old was hit twice in his left leg and transported to Einstein Medical Center in stable condition, but he did need surgery. Police say the victim's parents were watching television when both males entered through the front door of the home; they were unharmed.

Both suspects have been described as 20-year-old, black males wearing dark colored hoodies. The first suspect is about 5-foot-7, had a hoody wrapped around his face and was armed with a silver gun. The second suspect is about 6-foot.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
