New Jersey Nurse Rips Off Elderly

By David Madden

NEW JERSEY  (CBS)  -- A South Jersey doctor has admitted to ripping off Medicare to the tune of more than a half a million dollars.

52 year old Lori Reaves of Waterford Works had been the highest billing home care provider in New Jersey for almost 3 years.

That's because she billed for visits to elderly patients out of her Hammonton office that she never made or, if she did visit, spent far less time with them than she claimed.

Her attorney Rocco Cipparone says, "she's very remorseful. She wanted to put this behind her and it was a limited period of time in her life."

Reaves faces a potential 10 year jail term and at least a quarter million dollar fine when she is sentenced in July. The US Attorney is also seeking full restitution.
