EXCLUSIVE: 26-Year-Old Victim In Camden County Explosion Doing Well

By Jericka Duncan

HADDON HEIGHTS, N.J. (CBS) – Thursday Eyewitness News sat down with the family of Raquel Nunn.

She's the 26-year-old who was severely injured in a February house explosion in Haddon Heights, New Jersey (see related story).

She is doing better than expected, even though she remains in the burn unit at Crozer-Chester Medical Center.

This week, her family says Raquel started to eat and drink on her own. She's even able to walk a little bit.

Over the next couple of weeks her family is having fundraising events to help pay for her medical expenses:

  • Dine and Donate March 29th at P.J. Whelihan's Pub, 396 S. Lenola Rd. Maple Shade, NJ.
  • Raquel-a-Palooza April 7th 2pm-8pm at Mad River in Manayunk, PA. 4100 Main Street. Tickets are $25 per person.
  • Mimada Beauty Bazzar April 14th at 1623 South Street. Tickets are $25 per person.
