PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police are investigating what caused a driver to lose control and nearly end up in the Schuylkill River early Saturday morning.

The incident occurred just before 1 a.m. along Martin Luther King Jr. Drive at Sweet Briar Drive in Philadelphia.

According to police, the car flew down an embankment and nearly ended up in the Schuylkill River.

The driver refused medical treatment.

Police are investigating whether he was driving under the influence.
