Wilmington Train Station Evacuated Briefly For Suspicious Package

WILMINGTON, Del. (CBS) - A Wilmington train station was evacuated when a suspicious package was found on Thursday.

The incident happened at about 4:30 p.m. at the train station located at 100 South French Street.

Wilmington Police say they received a call about a suspicious package found on the front steps to the entrance of the station.

MLK Boulevard at Market Street and Rosa Parks Drive at Market Street were closed.

After investigating, police found that the suspicious package was a stick wrapped in a shirt.

The train station was re-opened shortly after 5:00 p.m.

Roadways were also re-opened. Police advise motorists to seek alternate routes due to expected delays in the area.

No injuries were reported.
