PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Water department repair crews have been dispatched to a water main break along Rising Sun Avenue in the city’s Lawndale section. Water began pouring from a manhole cover just after 6am.

Authorities say a 10-inch main was broken and there are several properties without water.

The Philadelphia Water Department remains on scene fixing the main.

Rising Sun Avenue has been blocked off near Martindale Street by police as a precaution. Traffic is shut down in both directions.

Local detours are in place.
