PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Former members of Woodcrest Country Club visited the club one last time Saturday to clean out their lockers before the doors close for good.
“It’s a sad day.” Mike Gorsen (photo) from Voorhees says most of the members knew this day was coming but that doesn’t make the pill any easier to swallow.
“I’ve been a member here for over 15 years and I’m going to miss the camaraderie with all the fellows here playing everyday. It was like a family.”
Gorsen picked up a gym bag and a few drivers that he says he can’t hit straight then drove off for the last time.
“I’m going to miss all the guys. We’re all going to different courses. It’s a tough day.”
Other members said they the club has provided them with memories and friendships for a lifetime.
