Hatfield Authorities Still Searching For Man Wanted In Weekend Stabbing

By Brad Segall

HATFIELD, Pa. (CBS) -- Police in Hatfield (Montgomery County) were again pleading for help from the public to determine the whereabouts of Thomas Young, sought in connection with an attempted murder over the weekend.

Young, 49, has been on the run since Sunday, when police found the victim inside a home in the 300 block of Wheatfield Circle in Hatfield.

The 33-year-old woman had been stabbed.  She was airlifted to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where police say she continues to improve (see previous story).

Hatfield police officer Patrick Hanrahan says authorities believe Young still has the victim's 2009 black Honda Accord, which has a Pennsylvania registration of GKS-8099.

"We're currently following up leads, but we encourage the public to become involved and assist us with any information they may have on the whereabouts of Thomas Young," he told KYW Newsradio today.

Police describe Young as a "family member" but they would not elaborate on the relationship. He is now facing numerous charges including attempted murder.
