Wednesday's Child: LaKyisha

By Larry Kane
Produced by Timothy McLaughlin

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Fourteen-year-old LaKyisha wants to see the world.

"I want to go to different states and travel and just go all over and see how it is, try new things," she says.

She'd especially like to travel with a "forever" family.

Curiosity?  This budding globetrotter has it in spades, and she's also very creative.

"I like to sing, I like to draw, and I like to dance," she says.  "My favorite color is pink."

Gloria Hochman, of the National Adoption Center in Philadelphia, says LaKyisha is also a budding fashionista.

"She's a very typical 14-year-old who loves fashion, loves to dress up -- she looks like a fashion plate.  But she thinks about being adopted and having a family to call her own," Hochman tells KYW Newsradio.  "She wants a family that would be nice to her, a family that would care about her, a family that would take the time to listen to her."
