PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — With NFL Free Agency set to kick off Tuesday afternoon, the Philadelphia Eagles have moved quickly to get a deal signed with long snapper Jon Dorenbos and safety and special teams ace Colt Anderson.

Both Dorenbos and Anderson inked contracts with the team on Monday. Dorenbos, who was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent, signed a four-year contract, while Anderson, a potential restricted free agent, agreed to a one-year deal.

“We are excited Jon and Colt will remain members of our team,” said Eagles general manager Howie Roseman. “These are two players who bring not only ability but a great amount of character to their respective positions. We anticipate they’ll both continue to have a strong impact as leaders on special teams.”

Both players expressed a desire to get a deal done with the Eagles because of their desire to work with new head coach Chip Kelly.

“Coach Kelly and I spoke about both players throughout the past several weeks,” Roseman said. “We both thought it was important for our club moving forward that we get a deal done with Jon and Colt before they hit the free agent market.”

Dorenbos originally signed with the Eagles during the latter part of the 2006 season and has successfully served as the team’s long snapper ever since.

Known as a special teams demon, Anderson was signed by the Eagles during the 2010 season after serving on the Minnesota Vikings practice squad. He has since gone on to record 30 special teams tackles in 34 games.
