JEVS Human Services To Hold Seder To Help The Needy
By Lynne Adkins
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- 160 Philadelphia area women will gather tomorrow night for a Seder to help economically needy residents enjoy the season.
Kristen Rantanen is the spokeswoman for JEVS Human Services.
She says The 8th annual Passover Seder by the organization will allow women from all over the local Jewish community to enjoy an evening together.
Rantanen says, "many of the women that we service have a lot of economic barriers and have experienced some hardships in their lives and the Seder brings them together in an opportunity to celebrate an opportunity that they might not otherwise have because of their economic situation."
She says the keynote speaker is former Philadelphia District Attorney, Lynne Abraham, and the event will focus on building a community dedicated to helping women reach self sufficiency and job fulfillment.
It begins at 5 pm at the Jewish Community Service Building on Arch Street.
