Passport Day Gets Sequestered

By Justin Udo

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Passport Day in the USA takes place this Saturday, but this year you have fewer options where you can get your passport.

Jana Tidwell with AAA Mid-Atlantic says National Passport Day gives folks a chance to get their passport without having to schedule an appointment.

"It offers more locations and more times for the average person who wants to get their passport."

Tidwell says last year there were 11 places in the region participated in Passport Day, but this year that number is down to eight.

"US Department of State passport agencies will not be participating in passport day this year due to sequestration."

Most of the participating locations in our area are post offices and libraries. To find one near you, click here.
