Scott Hartnell Is The Most Hated Man In Pittsburgh

By Spike Eskin

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – It's fair to say that Flyers fans dislike Sidney Crosby more than any other player in the NHL. The "Crosby Sucks" chants that echo through the Wells Fargo Center are deafening.

As it turns out, Penguins fans, maybe all of Pittsburgh, don't like one of the Flyers very much either.

"I mean Hartnell, the hair, I mean everything. He taunts the fans," Ron Cook told 94 WIP's Morning Show on Thursday. Cook is the midday host on 93.7 The Fan in Pittsbugh, a sister station of SportsRadio WIP. "I mean, he loves it and they react to it. He's by far [the most hated Flyer], I really thought about this earlier in the year. Is Ray Lewis more disliked in Pittsburgh than Hartnell? I think Hartnell is the most disliked guy in Pittsburgh, in all of sports, right now."

"They absolutely hate him. But you know what? I love the guy because he gets it," Cook said. "He gets it's about entertainment, and he plays to the crowd perfectly in Pittsburgh and it's so much fun to watch. I wish he played for the Penguins. I think he's one of those guys that if he's on your team, you absolutely love him. I would say he has passed [Alex] Ovechkin as the most disliked guy---because Ovechkin has become kind of irrelevant."
