ROYERSFORD, Pa. (CBS) – Police have identified the Montgomery County woman who was killed Monday after she was hit by a car while she was out for a jog (see related story).
40-year-old Merinda Thompson was hit on the 400-block of North Lewis Street in Royersford.
“It’s still hard to believe,” neighbor Kevin Varani said. “I said she looks great, she’s in great shape, she’s running, she’s doing well. I guess 10 minutes later she was hit by the car.”
Neighbors say Richardson, a mother of two boys, was a great person.
“She is the most gracious person,” neighbor Mohammed Ahmid said. “Very sweet, very active in the community.
Family and friends have left two bouquets of flowers at the scene of the incident where police say the driver lost control of his vehicle.
Police say they’ve obtained a blood sample from the 18-year-old driver and are looking at cell phone records to determine what caused the crash. No charges have been filed yet.
