Charges Announced In Philadelphia Shooting At Rapper's Bus

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Police in Philadelphia have arrested a man in the homicide of a man who died when a gunman fired into a crowd surrounding the tour bus of rapper French Montana.

A police spokeswoman said Tuesday that 20-year-old Frank Briggs faces charges of murder, attempted murder, aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, and firearms crimes in the shooting shortly before midnight Feb. 28 near Penn's Landing.

Investigators said the bus, followed by several cars loaded with friends and family, had arrived at a hotel for a post-concert party after the Morocco-born rapper had headlined a sold-out show at the TLA. Twenty-six-year-old Jowann King, of Flushing, N.Y., was killed.

A listed number for Briggs couldn't be found Monday; it was unclear whether he had an attorney.
