SARASOTA, Fla. (AP) — Matt Wieters homered and drove in five runs, Conor Jackson connected twice and the Baltimore Orioles beat a Philadelphia Phillies split squad 12-3 on Sunday.
Wieters hit a three-run shot and Jackson followed with his first homer off Phillies starter Kyle Kendrick in the first inning.
Baltimore scored seven runs in the fifth on a two-run double by Wieters, a three-run homer by Jackson and a two-run drive by non-roster outfielder Jason Pridie.
Kendrick allowed four runs and four hits in two innings.
Chris Tillman started for the Orioles and allowed Michael Young’s two-run homer. He pitched 2 2-3 innings.
In his first appearance of the spring, Miguel Gonzalez tossed two scoreless innings for Baltimore.
