PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Citizens Bank is putting the money behind a community outreach effort for residents who live around the campus of Drexel University.
It’s called “Growing Communities” and will take a $100,000 donation from Citizens Bank into Drexel University’s Dornsife Center.
The goal is to reach nearby residents and help them with money management, job creation and even neighborhood revitalization.
Citizens Bank’s Dan Fitzpatrick on the basics of financial literacy:
“How to maintain a household budget, as well as establish a business budget, as well as the basic mechanisms of a financial contracts…”
To reach people, Drexel will contact community leaders. Residents are also welcome to come to the Dornsife Center during business hours to make an appintment for help, which, Fitzpatrick says, is free.
