PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – One person was taken to the hospital after a police involved shooting in Center City following a car chase Thursday night.

Police say the officer involved witnessed a shooting in the Grays Ferry section of Philadelphia. The gunman then reportedly got in a car and left the scene.

The officer then chased the gunman to 24th and Locust Streets where the officer shot the suspect in the arm.

The suspect was taken to the The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Their injuries are said to be non-life threatening.
