South Jersey Bar To Hold Fundraiser For Burn Victim Of Haddon Heights Fire

By Molly Daly

A South Jersey bar is holding a fundraiser for a bartender who was badly burned in Saturday's explosion and fire in Haddon Heights (read related story).

Raquel Nunn remains in critical condition at Crozer-Chester Medical Center.

"She's one of the nicest people I've ever met," says Tim Hamilton, the general manager at Ott's Greentop Inn in West Berlin, where Raquel has tended bar for about a year. "She always has a smile on her face, she's a very hard worker, and this is a very big tragedy to happen to someone like this."

The fundraiser will be held this Thursday, February 28th.

"We just wanted to something right away for her and her family, just so we can get them whatever they need while they're staying here with her," Hamilton says. "All her family is from out of town."

Ott's Green Top on Route 73 will offer free food and music from about 7:30 p.m. until midnight.

"We're just inviting all guests to come up and donate whatever they can and have a good time so we can let Raquel know that we're doing whatever we can for her," says Hamilton.

One of the bartenders is setting up an account in Raquel's name; another is trying to find her beloved black cat Leo, who escaped from the burning building.

"She's doing everything she can to find it," Hamilton says. "She's been out there every morning, trying to find the cat."

You can find out more by going to the Ott's Greentop Facebook page.
