EASTON, Pa. (AP) — Authorities say they’ve captured one of Pennsylvania’s 10 most-wanted fugitives, a homicide suspect charged with stabbing a man in Bethlehem during a game of dominoes nearly 20 years ago.
Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli says 50-year-old Francisco Miranda was arrested at his mother’s house in the Dominican Republic in November. Miranda was extradited to the U.S. on Friday to face charges of homicide and aggravated assault.
Morganelli says Miranda stabbed 30-year-old Jorge Antonio Velazquez in the chest during a 1994 game of dominoes. Miranda fled the state shortly after being charged and had been on the run ever since.
Miranda is behind bars in Northampton County Prison. It’s not clear whether he has a lawyer.
