PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A Chestnut Hill woman has been getting rave reviews for her new line of high fashion fitness wear made from bamboo.
Nadine Gelberg, a PhD in sport technology policy, has developed what she believes is a perfect fabric for women who may not be in the best of shape — at least not yet. And she says bamboo has a terrific feel.
“Amazingly soft fabric, and in addition, it’s naturally thermal regulating, which provides huge advantages. So for a number of ladies, we have a really soft long-sleeve running shirt, and I can run with it in the summer along the boardwalk and not get hot, which also means that I don’t have to show my upper arms,” Gelberg says.
It’s called Devigi, and it’s being offered at the Bellevue on Saturday until 2 p.m. A portion of the sales will go to the non-profit Students Run Philly Style.
