ALLENTOWN, Pa. (CBS) – Officials say police shot a man carrying a machete in Lehigh County Thursday morning.

The incident happened around 11:33 a.m. on 12th Street near Linden Street in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

According to police, a man was walking northbound on 12th Street with a machete.

Police say two officers approached the suspect and were forced to shoot.

The incident is under investigation and an autopsy will be conducted on Friday, Feb. 22.
