Wednesday's Child: Zy'mir

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Ever since Zy'mir built a volcano in science class, he's wanted to be a scientist -- serious stuff!

But, for now, he loves having fun.

"I like playing football and I like going out places, and I like doing stuff that is fun," he says.

Gloria Hochman, of the National Adoption Center based in Philadelphia, says Zy'mir needs a family for the crucial years ahead.

"Zy'mir is 12 years old -- he's about to become a teenager," Hochman tells KYW Newsradio.  "And he needs mostly to grow and be nurtured.  And he needs a family that will care about him and care for him."

His social worker, Tamara Redding, says Zy'mir has a lot of love to give.

"One thing that he would probably like in a family is probably a family that would greet him with a big smile and a hug and just something just to let him know that he's OK and he can feel nice and warm and sheltered in their arms," she says.
