PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – An elderly woman is in critical condition after being struck by a pickup truck in Philadelphia early Wednesday morning.

The incident happened at about 6:30 a.m. at Aramingo Avenue and Margaret Street in the city’s Bridesburg section.

According to investigators, an elderly female pedestrian was attempting to cross the street when she was struck by a pickup truck.

The victim was rushed to Aria Health’s Torresdale Hospital in critical condition.

Police say the driver of the pickup truck did stop at the scene. It was not immediately known if any charges would be filed.

The accident remains under investigation.
