TreePhilly Offering Free Trees To Philadelphia Residents

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – With only a few more weeks until the official start of spring, planting initiative TreePhilly has begun its annual tree giveaway.

The giveaway offers free trees to any Philadelphia resident at any of nine pickup events throughout the city.

Residents can get up to two trees per private address, and those planting on private property with a community use – a senior center, for example – can get up to ten trees.

Not sure how to plant your sprouts correctly? The pickup locations will also offer a tree planting demonstration, and many will have free mulch on-hand.

For more information or to pre-register for your tree, visit: www.treephilly.org
