PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - On today's APP-tastic and Outta Site - CheckOn.Me.

Mobile devices can be your best protection sometimes. The checkon.me app is an easy way to let people know when there's potential trouble.

Basically, you set an alarm when you jump in a cab or go on a blind date. If you fail to check in on the app, contacts you've selected are notified (even if your phone is off or out of range) and shown a map to your last known location.
