PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Kids now have their own place to play at the King of Prussia Mall.
While Mom or Dad rest their feet at the King of Prussia Plaza, there is a place for kids to climb, explore and even make a little music.
The new Children’s Hospital play area officially opened on Friday.
Dr. Julie Stern, a pediatric oncologist at CHOP, says it’s all about encouraging kids to exercise.
“There’s a slide and there’s an airplane and there’s bright colorful signage. There’s some mirrors. There’s a piano on the wall that the kids can use their hands to play on. It’s sort of like the piano from (the movie) ‘Big’ but it’s not on the floor, it’s up on the wall,” explains Dr. Stern.
Children’s Hospital is leasing the mall space for three years. The play area is free. It’s on the upper level of the Plaza near JC Penney.
