PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – “Priscilla, Queen of the Desert” comes to the Academy of Music from February 26th through March 3rd.

It’s the story of three friends on a road trip. But it’s not just any road trip — the travelers are two drag queens and a transsexual on their way across the Australian desert to a gig at a casino. The Kimmel Center’s Matt Wolf says it’s a journey of distance, and the heart.
“I think it’s the type of thing where you fall in love with these people, you root for them,” Wolf explains.
And it’s a visual feast, with colorful, splashy camp costumes that would put Carmen Miranda to shame.
“I think everybody should go to priscillaontour.com and look at the wonderful photos of this tour and see how fun these costumes are, because they will blow your mind. It is fabulous, I would say it is fabulous with heart,” Wolf adds.
