HARRISBURG (CBS)  –  Governor Tom Corbett says he’s reviewing his options now that the state attorney general has determined that he doesn’t have the authority to privatize the management of the Pennsylvania Lottery.

The contract with Camelot Global Services had to pass muster with Attorney General Kathleen Kane before taking effect.

Thursday, Kane announced that she has determined the contract is not legal.

Governor Corbett was asked about the decision at an event in Pittsburgh Thursday afternoon.

He says, “I’m very deeply disappointed in that decision… I don’t agree with it. And I don’t agree with the position that the attorney general has taken and her analysis of that decision. That being said, I have not had the full detail to take a look at that decision, because as you know, I’ve been on the road… the staff is taking a look at that. So we are reviewing it further, we will consider what options that we may have.”

The governor, however, did not say what those options may be. Kane says she has determined that making changes to the management of the Lottery is the prerogative of the state legislature.
