PATCO Subway Train Catches Fire In Center City

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Crews were on the scene of a fire in the subway in Center City.

According to officials, the fire broke out around 6:45 p.m. on a PATCO subway train at 8th and Market Streets.

PATCO reports power has been shut off in both directions.

The fire was placed under control at 7:01 p.m.

Officials later said that an engine had burned out on the train, causing it to fill with smoke.

There were no injuries.

All PATCO trains are running according to schedule.
