PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – You’ve ripped up the old photos and donated the borrowed clothes. Now, all that’s left to clean up is your Facebook account.
But how do you remove all traces of the ex from your newsfeed without de-friending him or her?
Enter a new Facebook app, launching on Feb. 14th — just in time for Valentine’s Day.
It’s called “KillSwitch,” and it claims to remove all content tagged with your ex-flame’s Facebook ID. That means photos, videos, status updates, wall posts – everything.
The app will cost users 99 cents in the App Store or Google Play starting on Thursday, and a portion of the proceeds will go to the American Heart Association of New York, “so broken hearts can help broken hearts.”
According to the website, all you have to do is download the app, identify the person you don’t want to be reminded of (the “target”), then let the team of “experienced robots” comb through your Facebook account, removing all traces of the ex.
And while it’s a relief to have your Facebook feed ex-free, sadly, there’s still no app to help with those awkward run-ins.
