Wife Of Alleged Delaware Courthouse Killer Forbidden From Having Contact With Grandchildren

WILMINGTON, Del. (CBS) – Just a day after her husband allegedly went on a rampage at a Delaware courthouse (see related story), the wife of Thomas Matusiewicz has been ordered to stay away from her grandchildren.

Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden announced on Tuesday that a Family Court judge has forbidden 67-year-old Lenore Matusiewicz from having any contact with the children of Christine Belford, who was shot dead during the incident, and son David Matusiewicz.

Lenore Matusiewicz must stay 1,000 feet away from her grandchildren at all times and can have no contact with them.

"The children are safe," Biden said. "We sought this no-contact order because we believe Lenore Matusiewicz is a danger to the children and should not have any contact with them. Her actions over the past five years have given us serious concern that she poses a risk to the children's safety."

Officials say that in 2009, Lenore aided her son in kidnapping his and Belford's three children. The two then fled to Canada, Texas, Mexico, Panama, Costa Rica and eventually Nicaragua, where they were found living in a motor home that Lenore had purchased.
