PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - For those who suffer from migraine headaches life can become a struggle. Not only are they severe headaches, but they tend to occur repeatedly.
There are medications that can help prevent them from occurring or even reduce the duration of the headache. And now, there is news from a small Belgian study which suggests patients may be able to prevent migraines by simply wearing a nerve stimulation device for 20 minutes a day.
The researchers found patients receiving stimulation therapy reduced their number of migraines. There were only 67 people in the study but there is no doubt this will lead to more work.
