PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia police and the FBI are searching for a suspect wanted in connection with a Monday afternoon bank robbery.
Around 2:42 p.m., the suspect entered the Republic Bank branch at 1818 Market Street in Center City, where he passed a demand note to the teller.
After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the subject fled the bank.
The suspect is described as a black male in his mid-to-late 50s. He’s approximately 6’ tall with a medium build, a medium complexion and a full “salt and pepper” beard. He wore a black baseball hat with a purple brim and an unknown logo, a black coat and brown-framed eyeglasses. He may have stains on his skin and/or clothing.
Police say the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about this robbery or this subject is urged to call the FBI at 215-418-4000 or the Philadelphia Police Department. There may be a reward for information leading to this subject’s capture.
