First Grader Allegedly Brings Loaded Gun To North Philadelphia School

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Less than a week after a young student brought a gun to a West Philadelphia after school program, police say another child also brought a weapon into a Philadelphia school.
Officials say a first grade student at North Philadelphia's General John F. Reynolds School at 24th and Jefferson Street brought a loaded handgun to school on Monday morning.
The student was allegedly showing the gun to other children at the school, and one of those children reported it to school police.
The child who brought the gun into the school was taken to the principal's office, where his backpack was searched and the gun recovered.
At this time, officers still don't know where the student got the gun.
