PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A veteran Lower Merion police officer reported missing Monday morning has been found dead.
Authorities say the body Officer Sean Quinn, a 25-year veteran of the force, was discovered late Monday morning in his personal car at FDR Park in South Philadelphia. He’d apparently shot himself in the head.
Lower Merion Police issued an alert to local law enforcement agencies after Quinn failed to report for duty at 7 a.m. Monday.
Lower Merion officials say Quinn had argued with his wife Sunday night.
Lower Merion Police Superintendant Michael McGrath released the following statement:
“The Lower Merion Police Department wishes to express its heartfelt condolences to Officer Quinn’s family and friends and asks that they be kept in your thoughts and prayers as we all try to come to terms with this tragic event.”
