The music from love stories and a thriller were the GRAMMY winners tonight for the best music from stage and screen.
Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross now have yet another award for their score to The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. The Golden Globe winning music won a GRAMMY for the Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media.
Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media went to the diverse music for Woody Allen’s romantic film Midnight in Paris, starring Owen Wilson and Rachel McAdams. Among the fellow nominees it beat tonight included the all-star soundtrack to the musical turned movie, Rock of Ages.
The award for Best Musical Theater Album went to 8 time Tony award winner Once: The Musical. The stage adaptation of the 2006 film of the same name, featuring the award winning music of Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, also won for Best Musical for 2012.
