Wilmington Police Investigate Fatal Shooting

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) — Wilmington police are investigating the killing of a security guard who was shot as he was walking to his car.

Authorities say 53-year-old Ioannis Kostikidis (ee-YOH-nis khost-teh-KEE-dis) of Townsend was shot Wednesday night in the 600 block of North Tatnall Street.

Officers responding to a report of shots fired found Kostikidis lying in a parking lot with gunshot wounds to his upper torso. He was pronounced dead at Christiana Hospital.

Police say they're looking for two men wearing black hooded jackets who were seen running from the area.

Kostikidis owned a tire business in Townsend, and also worked as a security guard at the American Beauty Academy.
