DOVER, Del. (AP) — Delaware state police say a Maryland woman is facing rape charges after allegedly having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old friend of her son.

Investigators say 35-year-old Katheryn L. Carmean of Berlin, Md., was arrested Wednesday after the 14-year-old told a family member that he had a sexual relationship with her.

Investigators said Carmean, who recently moved to Maryland, had sex with the boy over a 10-month period at her former home near Laurel, Del.

Carmean is charged with 10 counts of third-degree rape, continuous sexual abuse of a child, and endangering the welfare of a child. She is being held on $57,000 secured bond.
