PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Since its debut almost two years ago, Pinterest has quickly become one of the biggest social networks. Now, the online bulletin board site has rolled out its first profile page redesign.
Pinterest is experimenting with a new look. The changes are subtle but intended to make the site easier to navigate and the pins bigger and more engaging.
CNET reporter Jennifer Van Grove says, “It’s really just the same Pinterest just slightly tweaked and I think that that’s a really good idea for them, because they don’t want to scare away users. They had so much growth last year that they really need to focus on continuing growth and engagement.”
The new style will give Pinterest a cleaner look.
“The bigger, bolder pins they’re so much nicer to look at. I’m not sure how people are going to respond to the navigation so it may be a little bit tricky to convince people to go over to the left and use this new drop down menu. Pinterest has also said that the site is going to be faster, which will improve things a lot as well.”
The redesign is being tested with a small group before Pinterest rolls it out to all its users.
