PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police now say the suspects who robbed a Kensington pharmacy on Monday morning stole $30,000 worth of cash and prescription pills.
Police say a local elementary school was briefly put on lockdown after three armed men walked into the York St. Pharmacy at Memphis and York Streets in Kensington around 11 a.m. and fired shots.
The suspects reportedly dispatched their weapons in the street after a female customer walked into the store during the robbery and attempted to flee the scene.
While there were no serious injuries, the pharmacist says this is the second time this pharmacy has been robbed at gunpoint in the past two weeks. Last time, he says the suspects stole thousands in cash and pills as well.
Police haven’t made any arrests and are investigating the incident.
