1 Man Dead, 2 Critically Hurt After Shootings In Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Police in Philadelphia say one man died and two others were critically injured in shootings around the city overnight.

A police spokesman said a man found unconscious on a north Philadelphia street with a gunshot wound to the chest at about 1:15 a.m. Saturday died minutes later at Albert Einstein Medical Center. No identification was found on him. (see related story)

Minutes earlier, a 35-year-old man was critically injured in a shooting in southwest Philadelphia.

Shortly after 10 p.m. Friday, a man was shot in the left side in northwest Philadelphia. Police said he told authorities while being taken to the hospital in critical condition that he and a friend were approached by four males who said "Give up the car" and then shot him and took his vehicle.
