Caught On Tape: Man Falls Onto SEPTA Train Tracks

By Steve Beck

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A man lost his balance and fell onto tracks for SEPTA trains and the entire incident was caught on tape.

The frightening incident played out at about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday on a platform for the SEPTA EL train at 34th and Market Streets.

The video shows the man, wearing a hood, wandering dangerously close to the edge of a platform. Moments later, the man fell off the ledge and plunged four feet and landed hard onto the train tracks.

Shocked passengers, who were also on the platform, directed the man to a set of stairs that he was able to climb up and get back onto the platform. The man suffered only minor injuries.

Fortunately, no trains were coming because that particular track was down for maintenance.

The incident remains under investigation.
